I just finished stitching down the label for the back of my in-laws’ 50th anniversary quilt. As I’ve said before, the label is the hardest part of the quilt to me. It tells the story for generations to come. I don’t know why I fret so much over the quilt label. I’m making a queen-sized quilt for my guest room and am not hung up at all about the label. It will be Lighthouse Quilt and my name and the date 🙂 So much easier.
I found one of my in-laws’ wedding invitations which helped tell the story for their label. I’m very excited about presenting the quilt to them on Saturday when we have our family celebration. Guess I need to start planning my own 25th anniversary quilt in a few years. We celebrated 20 years this year, but no quilt.
Here’s my photo of the label…tried to keep the color scheme the same as the quilt. I was hoping to find a wedding photo of both parties, but all the wedding photos had the bride and the bride and her father. I found these cool old photos of my in-laws. Not sure if they are college or even high school photos. I thought it added a bit of nostalgia.
Sorry it is a little blurry. I bought a new camera this summer and absolutely cannot get it to take a photo to my liking. Maybe my next camera will be better. I loved the one prior to this one but it tuckered out way too soon.
We’re off to the big celebration on Saturday. Hope to post photos to my Flikr account soon after our return.
Coming soon…photos of the quilt that has taken me the longest to complete…probably over 4 years now. More on that story soon.
Until next time, happy sewing & quilting & more!
