A Place to Share Sewing & Quilting Experiences

We had another Christmas party for my quilt guild chapter in December.  The bar is set very high with these talented ladies, so I had to put a lot of time and thought into my ornament exchange gift.  I did an embroidery lace ornament for the Christmas in July party, so wanted to be just a little different.  I found a really nice set of ornament covers from Embroidery Library which is one of my very favorite embroidery design websites.

The challenge (which I didn’t anticipate) was in finding a plain ornament to put on the inside.  It is difficult finding an ornament that is 4″ in diameter.  I found a shiny red/green one and used it.  It wasn’t quite 4″ so the cover is a little big for it.  I thought the ornament turned out nicely though.  I wish I had made one for myself, but the two pieces for this ornament cover took about 2 1/2 hours to stitch out.
